UNLV School of Dental Medicine, the only accredited dental school in Nevada, opened its doors during fall 2002 offering a doctor of dental medicine degree to an initial cohort of 75 students. Today, the school receives more than 1,800 applications for an available 82 seats within its pre-doctoral program; offers eight academic degree and advanced education certificate programs; conducts biomedical research within 4,000 square feet of laboratory space; hosts continuing education classes to industry professionals; leads multiple community outreach programs; and has more than 70,000 patient visits per year.

We offer multiple dental services. In addition to our Urgent/Emergency and general dentistry clinics, we have three specialty, resident dentist clinics. Our Orthodontic program offers the latest treatment options including clear braces, Damon braces, clear aligners, and Invisalign. Our General Practice Residency program provides comprehensive care to referred patients in clinical and hospital settings, and our Pediatrics clinic provides general dentistry and specialty care to children as old as 16. We also have a Faculty Dental Practice, which is a full-service, private dental office within the school where licensed faculty dentists, residents, and hygienists offer comprehensive care and specialty services.

The school established a robust community outreach program that includes multiple low-cost and no-cost on-site community clinics dedicated to children, women, homeless persons, and veterans; and statewide initiatives such as the Early Childhood Carries Prevention Project.

The school believes lifelong learning enhances the quality of patient care as well as the personal and professional success of dental health care providers. Our continuing education program focuses on hands-on, interactive, and consultative approaches in education.

The school operates several clinical programs at two locations in Las Vegas. Our primary dental offices are located at 1700 W. Charleston Blvd., within the Las Vegas Medical District. Our UNLV Smiles Dental Clinic is located at 4505 S. Maryland Parkway inside the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on the UNLV campus.
